The Lobstermen's Job

Day's End at Sea Pier
11" x 14"
Oil on oil-primed linen mounted on board
$900. SOLD

How often have I stood at this place and painted while the lobstermen stacked their traps onto their lobster boats. This particular day they had all come in for the day and unloaded the traps onto the wharf. It is a hard life, but they all tell me they love it. They like being their own boss and being out on the ocean. I painted this after they had all gone home. It was quiet but you could still sense their presence.
