This house belonged to Artist and Map Maker Ruth Gardner who lived to be 105 years and 10 months old. She was a fun-loving talented woman with quite a wit. I was fortunate enough to know her. She used to come to the life drawing sessions I attended. The house is on Hendricks Head, Southport Island, Maine. It faces the beach she owned and allowed the public to use. When I painted her house a few weeks ago the memory of her was with me. Plein Air painting affords you experiences that are super special.
