The Snow is Slowly Leaving
In this painting I wanted to capture the snow leaving and spring in the offing. These colourful dories look heavy but they are made of fiberglass so they are lighter than they look. They hold nets for the fishermen and lobster traps for the lobstermen. They are stored here outside all winter and in the spring they are put into the water. Barrett Park belongs to the townspeople so the dories have to make way for all the hikers, picnickers, swimmers and functions. It is a wonderful place to paint in all seasons. I so enjoy painting here.
