A Boothbay Harbor Landmark

The Footbridge House
11" x 14"
Oil on oil-primed linen mounted on board
$900  SOLD

The famous footbridge in Boothbay Harbor was so challenging to paint. There were so many pilings and railings and docks and piers etc. Simplifying was the only way to go. If I had put in all the details it would have become an architectural drawing. So I chose not to put them in.  It was fun to play with the colours of the ocean. I saw all shades of purples and greens and maroons and blues. If I went back there a hundred times I would see it and paint differently every time.
I love living here.
